Im 45 years old and stage 2-3 in legs and arms . I had full arms done on Oct 24,2023 by the lovely Dr. Giera . I started with arms as they are the most mentally hard for me.
She removed 4liters. It’s 4months post op and my arms are so much lighter . She is absolutely wonderful surgeon and soul . She is the most caring doctor you will find and try’s to do as much as possible to lessen the surgeries needed . Her whole team are wonderful and caring . They are very passionate about what they are doing for each of us individually. I go again March 19th for legs . Very excited and scared but I know I’m in great hands with every surgery so this also decreases the stress. I’m very happy to have found her and she will continue to do all my surgeries through this journey.

Dr. Giera is a very caring surgeon. She operated me in December 2023 and I am forever grateful. She removed 3.8 L. I am stage I. I have been battling lipedema since 2002. I was 11 yo. I was diagnosed with lipedema, lymphedema and deep venous insufficiency in 2016. However, at my consultation in September 2023, Dr. Giera said I only have lipedema. It was a relief to finally have a proper diagnostic.
I am almost at the 3 months post-op mark. Pain and bruises are gone. I am very happy.
Dr. Giera is so passionate and truly cares about helping women with Lipedema. From our first consultation (which is free) I knew I trusted her with my most painful area (lower legs). In February 2024, my husband and I traveled to Munich for my first surgery with her. At my pre-op consultation, she shared that she believed she could accomplish everything for my arms and legs in just 2 surgeries, not 3 as I had anticipated. She knows international patients are going to a much greater expense for travel and does not take it lightly. She treated upper and lower legs – front and back!- removing 7.4 liters. I’m only 18 days post op, but see an amazing difference already! My ankles are tiny, my knees have definition, and I have shapely calves. Photos are from recovery – she comes to check on us frequently, and 24 hours post op – swelling had already begun, but legs are so much smaller than before – shown in the 3rd photo.
